Migrations from WordPress, TYPO3, or Jekyll
If your existing site runs on a different technology and you want to migrate: we analyze content, plan the URL structure (including 301 redirects), build Astro templates suited to the existing site, and migrate content cleanly.
Custom Components and Integrations
Astro can be combined with React, Vue, Svelte, or Solid – selectively and only where interactivity is really needed (Islands Architecture). We use this conservatively: default is static, JavaScript is loaded only where it actually does something.
Who Builds Your Astro Site
Codeäffchen is a 4-person web development agency from Gerhardshofen in Middle Franconia, Germany. We've been building websites and custom software for over 20 years – previously with PHP, later with Laravel and WordPress, today also with Astro.
We work remotely for clients throughout Germany. On-site meetings are possible but rarely necessary – most Astro projects run completely remote, with Slack, GitHub, and regular video sessions.
We aren't the largest agency. But we don't sell you what we've only experimented with. We use Astro daily – including on our own site.

Frequent Questions
When does Astro make sense, when is WordPress better?
Astro is strong for marketing sites, multilingual corporate sites, performance-critical landing pages, and migrations when you want to ditch an existing WordPress site. WordPress is stronger when an editorial team needs to maintain content daily without coding skills, or when a standard shop with WooCommerce is sufficient. We advise honestly on what fits – even if the answer sometimes is: not Astro. More on this in our detailed comparison article.
Can we migrate later if requirements change?
Yes, Astro sites can be migrated well to other setups. Markdown content is portable, Schema.org structures remain. We provide you with clean architecture documentation at launch. If you need a different setup three years from now, your content isn't trapped in a proprietary format.
How complex is content maintenance without a classic CMS?
Two paths. If your team can edit Markdown files (or wants to learn): content is maintained directly in the repository, every change versioned. If you want a familiar CMS interface: we integrate Storyblok, Sanity, or Strapi – you get a WYSIWYG interface, Astro still renders the content out statically and quickly.
