Client

Bene-vit van Clewe is a family business with over 60 years of textile tradition. The shop serves private customers as well as institutional partners such as Jena University Hospital.

bene-vit.de

Background

Bene-vit van Clewe sells skin-protective functional textiles for allergy sufferers and people with care needs. The shop needed to display several hundred products in a deep category structure – multilingual, with consistent presentation and individual category design that Avada's standard templates couldn't provide.

The specific requirement: WooCommerce category pages shouldn't look like generic shop pages, but like standalone landing pages – each with its own intro, visual language and CTA. Avada doesn't support this out of the box; it required a custom category override.

What we built

  • WooCommerce with hundreds of products and deep category structure
  • Custom category override: WordPress pages replace Avada category templates for full design freedom
  • WPML for multilingual content and products – DE/EN consistently maintained
  • Avada theme with extensive individual customisations for the Bene-vit brand identity
  • Google Tag Manager and Facebook Pixel integrated GDPR-compliantly with consent management
  • Pagespeed optimisation with WP Rocket, Core Web Vitals in the green
  • Technical SEO, ongoing maintenance and support

What makes it special: Custom Category Override

Avada renders WooCommerce category pages using its own template – which is nearly impossible to override. Our solution: we wrote a plugin that maps WordPress pages to WooCommerce categories. When a category is accessed, WordPress renders the assigned page instead of the Avada template – with full access to the page builder, custom blocks and brand elements. The products below still come from WooCommerce.

Standard shop templates not enough? We build what marketplace plugins can't – clean, testable, maintainable.
