WooCommerce Maintenance: When Downtime Costs Money Immediately
Shop maintenance built on our Pro and Premium plans: staging tests before every update, a monitored checkout flow, daily backups.
Why a shop is maintained differently
A WooCommerce shop is technically more demanding than a website – and a mistake gets expensive immediately.
A larger plugin stack
Payment gateway, shipping provider, invoicing, often an ERP connection – any of these extensions can break on an update, and they depend on each other.
A living database
Unlike a website, a shop changes around the clock: orders, stock levels, customer accounts. With high order volume, a backup from hours ago is a different thing from a backup from right now.
Downtime is immediate revenue loss
A website that loads but looks wrong is annoying. A checkout that doesn't go through costs orders from the first minute. That's why we monitor the checkout flow itself, not just whether the homepage responds.
What's included for shops
Shop maintenance isn't a separate pricing tier – it's the shop-specific shape of our existing plans.
Pro – 219 €/month
- Staging test before every update
- Form monitoring: daily send check, weekly delivery check, silence alarm
- Daily backups + on-demand before updates
- Virtual patching against known vulnerabilities (Patchstack)
- Response within 8 hours (Mon–Fri, 8 am–6 pm)
- Hack cleanup included if it happens despite active maintenance
Premium – 349 €/month
- Staging test + visual regression before every update
- Checkout flow monitoring
- Form monitoring as in Pro
- Daily backups + on-demand, longer retention
- Response within 4 hours (Mon–Fri, 8 am–6 pm)
- Hack cleanup included, with an evidence copy secured before we touch anything
Outside service hours, both plans include an emergency line, billed at 150 €/h. First contract term is 3 months, then cancellable monthly, DPA included – as described on the maintenance page.
Basic isn't intended for shops
In the Basic plan, updates run without a staging test. For a website that's a calculated risk; for a shop, a broken update hits the checkout directly – and with it your revenue. Pro is therefore the minimum for WooCommerce.
Choose a plan
Pro
219 € / month
The standard for shops without special logic: one payment provider, a manageable catalog, one editor.
Pro details →Premium
349 € / month
For shops with payment or ERP integrations, high order volume, or several editors.
Premium details →How the update cycle works for shops
- 1
Update on staging
Update core, WooCommerce and plugins first on a copy of your shop, not live.
- 2
Check template versions and error log
Outdated template overrides and new error messages show up here, not live.
- 3
Test order through to the payment page
On staging, click through the whole checkout once – cart, shipping, payment page.
- 4
Live update outside peak hours
Only once staging is clean does the update go live – at a time with low order volume.
- 5
Second test order
We also test through to the payment page live once more before we close out the update.
What we don't deliver
Development of new shop features, theme rebuilds beyond the free hours, content or product upkeep, legal advice on payment or privacy questions, and no guarantee against every outage. All of that is possible, but billed at our 120 € hourly rate after approval.
What our clients say
Straight from our Google Business Profile – quoted verbatim, not filtered by star rating.
How these reviews get here
The reviews come from our Google Business Profile. We pull them through Google's interface from time to time and store them unchanged in this page, rather than querying them on every visit. We do not write the wording ourselves and we do not change it; long texts are shortened for display, with a link to the full review on Google.
Once a project is finished we ask clients for a review. There is nothing in return – no discount, no voucher, no prize draw – and we ask regardless of how happy someone was.
We do not select by star rating. Which individual reviews Google hands over is Google's choice. The average and the total above are the profile's figures as of October 1, 2026 and cover every review, including the ones not shown here.
Whether the reviewers really were our clients we do not verify ourselves – we cannot. Google states that it acts against fake reviews; we have no influence on that.
Frequently asked questions
Is Basic enough for my shop?
No. In the Basic plan, updates run without a staging test – for a blog that is an acceptable risk, for a shop a broken update hits the checkout directly, and with it your revenue. Pro is therefore the minimum for WooCommerce shops; Premium makes sense with payment or ERP integrations, high order volume, or several editors.
How often are backups taken?
Daily and automatically, plus on-demand before every update, encrypted and stored separately from hosting. With high order volume we recommend backing up the database more often as well, so that in a worst case as few orders as possible are lost between two backups – our backup planner helps you work out how often makes sense for your shop.
What happens if there's a hack?
In Pro and Premium, cleanup is included if the hack happened despite active maintenance. Before touching anything, we back up a copy of the compromised state, then clean it, close the gap, and harden the site. What we don't provide: a forensically sound investigation or a reliable statement on whether personal or payment data was exposed. If that's needed, we refer you to a specialist and hand over the secured copy.
Do you also maintain shops someone else built?
Yes, that's our standard case. The onboarding audit clarifies beforehand which plugins, payment integrations, and customizations are in the shop, and whether there are technical obstacles. In the vast majority of cases we take over without issues, regardless of who originally built the shop.
